There is a documentary series on Netflix called Abstract and it opened my eyes to the world of art and how things can be perceived and be two things at the same time to many different people. One effect of this is now I am always asking questions and trying things out with my imagination to see potential perspectives of others.
I took this image because I knew I saw something in it. I will do a piece in the future that will involve all the colours from this image. This image is my colour palette and those colours will have everything I need.
The sky is a light gradient. The leaves are forming a nice dark green from the bottom and patches in between but the closer they get to the sky they seem to be heating up. They seem to be catching fire. Does the Phoenix catch fire and take then proceed to take flight based on what it has discovered about the rebirth from ash? Or does it catch fire because of the will to be reborn into something more and the relit flames are the resulting light show of determination and somehow brighter then what initially burned?
I cannot wait to see.
